Abdominal imaging
Introduction
Abdominal imaging concerns the imaging of every organs below the abdomen, such as the kidney, the liver, the bladder, the pancreas, the intestine… Abdominal imaging is challenging because the imaging depth can be quite important which causes loss in resolution. Amongst all, the different fat layers that patients can have causes waves distortion, which reduces again the resolution. However, many organs are concerned and there is a great interest into improving abdominal imaging.
Currently, we are interested in imaging the small intestine and its microcirculation. Having access to the gut micro-circulation could help us to understand better its functioning and gut-related disease, such as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD).
