Cancer imaging

Introduction

Super-resolution ultrasound is a cutting-edge imaging technology capable of visualising blood vessels at microvascular resolution while capturing their flow dynamics. This innovation holds significant promise in cancer care, as malignant tumours often exhibit structurally and functionally abnormal blood vessels. By extracting robust quantitative parameters that accurately characterise the tumour microvasculature, SRUS has potential to differentiate between benign and malignant tumours, as well as detecting significant post-treatment microvascular changes. Overall, super-resolution ultrasound presents a low-cost and precise solution for cancer diagnosis and monitoring treatment response.
